J.S. Alexander was born under a peculiar alignment of the stars, which, according to an old (and highly unreliable) prophecy, meant he was destined for a life filled with mischief, adventure, and—quite possibly—goblin-related trouble. Raised in a world straddling the ordinary and the extraordinary, he spent his childhood balancing schoolwork with the slightly more pressing matter of keeping mischievous creatures from stealing his socks. Or, worse, his toes.
After years of training in the ancient arts of storytelling (also known as earning a Doctor of Education degree and navigating the world of teaching mischievous goblin children), J.S. set out on a grand quest—to capture the magic, mystery, and sheer weirdness of childhood in books that make even the most reluctant readers turn the page. Some say J.S. honed his craft in Durham, North Carolina, a land of endless food trucks and enchanted coffee shops, but others whisper of secret doors hidden in the walls, leading to a goblin-infested valley where inspiration runs wild.
When not writing, J.S. can be found dodging the naughty toe goblins, fine-tuning peculiar inventions (none of which have exploded…yet), or exploring the shifting paths of a mysterious carnival rumored to appear only under the right moonlight.
His latest book, Arlo Fink and the Terrible Toe Goblins, is proof that goblins are, in fact, real—and that keeping your feet properly covered at night is not just good advice, but a survival strategy.
